Artineer Complex Media Lab
Exploring complexity as a medium for thought and form. Our lab investigates how principles from complex systems—emergence, self-organization, network dynamics—can be translated into new forms of digital media, interactive art, and technological aesthetics. We work across generative systems, computational design, artificial life, data storytelling, and ecological intelligence to reimagine the role of the artist-engineer in a world shaped by nonlinear logic and collective intelligence.
Research
Complexity as a Creative Medium
At Artineer Complex Media Lab, we explore how principles from complex systems—such as emergence, self-organization, and nonlinearity—can be transformed into new forms of digital media and interactive art. Our research spans generative design, algorithmic aesthetics, and behavioral simulation, bridging science, art, and computation to rethink the language of systems through creativity.
Systems, Networks, and Society
We investigate how network theory, artificial life, and nonlinear dynamics can be used to visualize and interact with complex social, ecological, and political structures. From self-organizing installations to socio-visual storytelling, our work reimagines how systems-thinking can foster deeper public engagement and critical reflection in media arts.
Publishing, Exhibiting, Evolving
Our research and artistic outputs are presented across top academic venues and international exhibitions, including ACM SIGGRAPH, TEI, CHI, ISEA, and Leonardo. We actively engage with platforms like Ars Electronica, the Lumen Prize, and UCCA Lab, aiming to push the boundaries of both scholarly discourse and cultural impact through interdisciplinary innovation.
